Program Details

Consistent with the university student outcomes, upon completion of the Master of Science in Healthcare Simulation Leadership degree, graduates will be able to:

  1. Apply a biblical worldview to the moral and ethical questions inherent in simulation leadership.
  2. Apply innovation in areas of technology, design, and evaluation.
  3. Integrate principles of best practice simulation design within simulation-based learning activities.
  4. Initiate leadership strategies within a healthcare setting both clinical and or education based.
  5. Apply and analyze principles of quality and safety improvement within the context of simulation leadership.
  6. Combine principles of research design and evaluation within the context of simulation leadership as it relates to program quality improvement.

HSL 540: Educational Simulation Program Design, Implementation and Evaluation

Includes a thorough overview of instructional design components and learning theory and methodologies related to simulation program design, implementation, and evaluation.

HSL 570: Emerging Trends in Healthcare Simulation Leadership

Explores the current and potential within simulation programs due to impacts of new, emerging, and rapidly evolving technologies within and how these organizations are coping (or not) with the resulting innovation disruption.

HSL 580: Quality and Safety Improvement Practices in Simulation Based Learning

Clinical quality improvement theory; classes of outcomes; process management; management tools and techniques for leading improvement of clinical processes, decision-making and program outcomes.
