Student Refunds

Students with a credit balance resulting from federal aid and/or federal loan monies will automatically receive a refund, after all charges are covered and a credit exists on their account.  

Students receiving federal loans can expect to receive 2 email notifications:

1. The first email notification will come from the US Department of Education. This "disclosure statement" email will confirm the net loan amount approved for disbursement.
2. The second email notification will come from the Financial Aid Office. This email confirms loan funds have been received by the school and are posted to the student account. Once loan funds have posted, the refund process will begin, if eligible.

Refund Options

We have partnered with Touchnet and Checkbook, a Global Payments Company, to process student refunds. 

To ensure you receive your refund quickly, we recommend you sign up for direct deposit. Students can enroll in direct deposit through our Payment Center Via LancerLink.*  Students must have a United States Bank Account in order to receive refunds electronically. 

*Returning students previously enrolled in direct deposit must re-enroll beginning May 5, 2026 to receive their student refunds through direct deposit.

How to Sign Up for Direct Deposit

• Go to lancerlink.calbaptist.edu>Student Finance Tab
• Go to Student Accounts Card>Payment Center
• At the top of the page click “Refund Account Setup”
• Select “Enroll in multi-factor authentication” if prompted
• Under “Refund Methods”> “Direct Deposit” click “Set up a new account”
• Enter account information and follow prompts to complete sign up

*Please note, if direct deposit is not set up, an email will be sent to your LancerMail account to confirm where a paper check should be mailed. Please note 

Timeline

Refunds are processed within two weeks after financial aid has disbursed, all charges have been covered, and a credit exists on the account, in accordance with federal guidelines. The university is committed to issuing refunds as quickly as possible. We encourage enrollment in direct deposit as the fastest option to receive your refund.
