Program Objectives

To provide excellent language teacher training in a variety of formats (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) to national and international students who wish to teach English as a second language primarily in countries other than the United States.

To provide students with:

    • A Christian world view which provides the literary scholar a mechanism with which to explore God’s created world and examine his or her individual role in it as a person of faith.
    • A theoretical and critical base from which to examine literature, explore the writing process, understand language, and ground scholarly research that is current, informed, and competitive.
    • Pedagogical considerations that provide a balance of theory, content and application particularly for the fields of scholarly pursuits and teaching will be modeled and discussed.
    • Comparative or interdisciplinary approach which allows students new avenues of research and investigation in keeping with current movements in the field and in education.
