Omega Phi was founded on October 1, 2013 and strategically installed on November 7, 2013. November is the National Sigma Delta Pi Charter Month in recognition of the founding of Sigma Delta Pi on November 14, 1919. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Ruvalcaba, Dr. Flores, Dr. Rojas and Dr. Solórzano of APU. The former are members of the Azusa Pacific University Chapter. There were five charter members and three honorary members inducted. Since then, the Chapter has initiated a total of nine members and holds an average of one initiation ceremony per year. The first president, vice presidents, secretary and treasurer were Vanessa Hupka, Amber, Jessica Trujillo, Salvador Jimenez and Nicholas Ryan Topoleski. The advisor continues to be Dr. Noé Ruvalcaba.

Immediately following its inception, our honorary chapter Omega Phi started to organize activities to foster the study of Spanish and promote global awareness in our campus. Currently, Omega Phi is raising funds to organize a high school Spanish spelling bee contest for the Inland Empire. Winners of this competition will receive cash prices/scholarships.

To raise funds for these events, along with asking local businesses for support, Omega Phi has organized drawings and book sales. The Chapter also carried out various community service activities including teaching Spanish to elementary school children.

Omega Phi currently has nine active members and three honorary members.
