Jeffrey Scott Biddle, LMFT, Counseling Center Director

Jeff Biddle holds a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento, as well as an M.Div. in Practical Theology from Talbot School of Theology and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. He is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist. Jeff assumed the position of Counseling Center Director at California Baptist University in August 2013. For the previous 17 years, he served as a pastor, directing and overseeing a Christian counseling center, leading marriage ministry, support groups, a 12-step Biblical recovery program; and served as chaplain to the church staff. Jeff has maintained a private practice since 2005, specializing in couples therapy, specifically for those in crisis, as well as working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety and sexual addiction. Jeff is married to Michele, and the couple has three children, Brooke, Joshua, and Scotty.

Natalie Rios, Psy.D., Counseling Center Assistant Director

Dr. Rios is a clinical psychologist who earned her doctoral (Psy.D.) and master's degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, San Diego. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from California Baptist University. She has gained invaluable experience working with individuals and couples, and has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, outpatient community clinics, and several college counseling centers. Dr. Rios is passionate about working with college students and her professional interests include identity exploration and development, relational dynamics, adjustment difficulties, and grief and loss. Additionally, she is committed to supporting Counseling Center clinicians and collaborating with staff and faculty in order to promote the wellness of students across campus. Presently, Dr. Rios is the Assistant Director of the CBU Counseling Center and she regularly provides supervision for clinicians working within the counseling center.

Julie Greenwalt, Counseling Center Office Manager

Julie Greenwalt graduated from California Baptist University with a B.A. in Behavioral Science. She assumed the position of secretary in the Counseling Center in June 2006 and became the office manager in 2013.

Laura Abbott, Counseling Center Secretary

Laura Abbott graduated from Southern Illinois University, where she received a B.S. in Health Care Management. She assumed the position of secretary in the Counseling Center in 2014.

Angela Marie Arellano, MFT TraineeAngela Arellano

Angela Arellano received her B.A. in Psychology and Communication Arts and is currently working toward her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS). She is particularly interested in working with families and using animal-assisted therapy.

Lisa Burgess, MFT Trainee

Lisa Burgess received her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and is currently working toward her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for marital and premarital couples, and is interested in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders.

Scott Dalgetty earned his B.A. in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, and is currently working toward his M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He is certified in Prepare/Enrich for marital and premarital couples, and has experience working in children's and youth ministries. Scott is interested in working with children, adolescents, young adults, individuals, couples, and families.

Shannon Duell, MFT Intern

Shannon Duell earned her B.A. in Political Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling, and is interested in working with couples and individuals, particularly those struggling with depression, anxiety, or grief and loss.

Kelly Fuller, MFT Trainee

Kelly Fuller received her B.A. in Addictions Studies and Counseling from Bethany University, as well as an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for marital and premarital couples, and has experience working as a drug and alcohol counselor, chaplain, and lay counselor. Kelly enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families, particularly those dealing with grief and loss, addiction, issues with identity, self-injurious behavior, depression, anxiety, and spirituality.

Grace Gonzales, MFT Trainee

Grace Gonzales received her B.A. in Psychology and Cultural Anthropology and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University with a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling. She is fluent in Spanish and is interested in working with couples, families, and children.

Naomi Joyce, MFT Intern

Naomi Joyce earned her B.A. and M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She currently works with adults and adolescents who are involved with the legal system as well as has experience with premarital and marital counseling. Naomi is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. She is interested in working with families, couples, and children.

Jennifer Kincaid obtained her B.A. degree in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is particularly interested in working with children and persons who have suffered trauma.

Stephanie Kohorst, MFT Trainee

She has experience working with youth and is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. She is interested in working with teens, young adults, families, and couples.

Michael LoGiudice, MFT Intern

Michael LoGiudice obtained his B.A. in Psychology at Ashford University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Michael has experience working as a behavioral specialist and is interested in helping individuals with PTSD, grief, and using narrative psychology.

She has experience working with women's ministries and is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Whitney is interested in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders.

Celena Mendez earned her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino and is currently working on her M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for marital and premarital couples, and is interested in working with couples, families, young adults, and military personnel and veterans.

Hattie Pearl McNutt, MFT Intern

Hattie McNutt received her B.A. in Marketing and an M.A. in Management from Saint Mary's University. She obtained an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Hattie has experience as a behavior coach with children and adults, and as a counselor at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center for Men. She has also worked with underserved youth, at-risk teen girls, and low income persons. She is interested in working with children, young adults, adults, families, and couples.

Michelle Nedwek earned her B.A. in Social Science from Hope University, and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with individuals, children, families, and has a particular interest in dealing with issues unique to women.

Teresa Rimmer, MFT Intern

Teresa Rimmer completed her B.A. in Psychology and Business at UCLA and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Teresa has a passion for and experience working with individuals, couples, families, teens and children.

Andrew Rudd obtained his B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Andrew has experience working in youth ministry and is interested in working with adolescents, families, and couples.

Melani Samples, MFT Intern

Melani Samples earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies and Human Development and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She speaks German and has experience working with children with autism, ADD/ADHD, and conduct disorder, and is interested in working with special needs children. She is also interested in working with individuals, families, and couples dealing with anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, and personality disorders.

Lanise Singh received her B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Child Life from Azusa Pacific University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Lanise has experience working with youth and young adults and is also interested in working with children, couples, and families.

Kyrsten Stevens received her B.A. in Psychology and is currently working toward her M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for marital and premarital couples, and enjoys working with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families.

Jennifer VanBeek completed her B.A. in Recreation at Calvin College and her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with elementary school-age children and has worked extensively with youth. She is interested in working with children, youth, young adults, and families.

Siobhan Welsh, MFT Intern

Siobhan Welsh received her B.A. in Human Development and Counseling Psychology at Prescott College and obtained an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Ministry with a concentration in LPCC at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich for both premarital and marital counseling. Siobhan has experience as a court-appointed special advocate for foster children and as a patient advocate at the Pregnancy Resource Center. She has also worked as a Setting Captives Free mentor for women & girls. She is interested in working with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families, particularly those in crisis.
