Enhancing the CBU experience through purposeful, co-curricular programming.
Community Life at CBU hosts a variety of traditional events throughout the school year.
TWIRP - The Woman Is Required to Pay (end of September) -- During TWIRP Week, girls invite guys to fun activities and events throughout the week. Highlights of the week include a Barn Dance, complete with a call, square dancing, and a costume contest, as well as a concert, off-campus excursion, and an Angels game.
Midnight Madness (late October/early November) -- This event is a kickoff to the year's basketball
season. Highlights include the introduction of the men's and women's basketball teams,
a dunk contest, 3-point shootout, games and relays, and free food and prizes for the
fans. You must wear your CBU Crazies t-shirt to get in the door. Ticket required.
Yule (early December) -- This event features a formal dinner and night of entertainment at a southern CA venue. Last year's event featured a murder mystery dinner aboard The Queen Mary.
Late Night Breakfast (finals week) -- This event truly is a late night breakfast served by the faculty and staff to the students during one of the first nights of finals week.
Hosting concerts and coffeehouse events on campus is a growing tradition.
Coffeehouse concerts occur a few times each semester and range from Open Mic Nights showcasing CBU's talent to concerts by well known artists such as Tyrone Wells, Phil Wickham, Elenowen, Ben Rector, Andrew Belle, and many more!
Community Life also offers opportunities to experience the unique culture southern California has to offer. Students have the opportunity to connect with others of similar interests and discover local attractions at CBU exclusive pricing. Past southern California trips include:
Professional sporting events -- San Diego Chargers football, Angels & Dodgers baseball, Kings & Ducks hockey, Galaxy soccer, Clippers & Lakers basketball
Broadway performances -- Wicked, West Side Story, Lion King
Other performances -- Yo Yo Ma, Brian Regan, Cirque du Soleil
