I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

- Micah 6:8, NASB
Teaching gives meaning to my existence by allowing me to influence the next generation of nurses as I impart my values that I hold as cherished hoping the roots of these values will stay strong in the winds of changes to come in healthcare. These cherished beliefs I desire to impart to the next generation of nurses surround the nurse-person relationship and how a registered nurse should treat their patient. As the nurse provides care, the nurse honors and respects the person who is endowed with dignity and worth; made in the image of God. With a non-judgmental, loving approach the nurse offers service to the patient as they allow them to lead as experts of their own health. I can influence people eternally by exhibiting attributes consistent with my Christian values that may impact the decision of others to have faith in Christ. By treating my students in a Christ-like manner, I honor and respect them as image bearers of God as we co-journey in the teaching-learning process.
