August 19, 2010 (Riverside, CA) -- Two memorial funds have been established in memory of the California Baptist University cheer coach killed in a traffic collision August 9.
Wendy Rice died when the van she was driving was struck head on by an out of control SUV on CA 395 near Bishop. She is survived by her husband and two children.
Twelve student athletes from the CBU cross country team who were passengers in the van Rice was driving were injured in the crash. Two of those students remain hospitalized.
The Wendy Rice Endowed Scholarship at California Baptist University is designed to aid students in the CBU cheer program who have financial needs. Additionally, the Rice Scholarship is intended to help Cross country athletes and other students with financial needs. Tax deductible gifts to this fund may be sent to:
