The Journalism major at California Baptist University (CBU) inculcates students with the disciplines and values that are essential to effective news reporting, design, photography, public relations and social media work. Research, analytical writing, feature writing, editing, layout and design are among the topics covered over the course of the Journalism program. Students are encouraged to focus on an area of concentration including; photo communications, public relations, global journalism and convergent/print media. Students participate in internships that allow them to gain valuable contacts in the industry. Students are encouraged to participate in freelance projects while in school to build a rich portfolio that will help them to compete for valuable positions when they graduate from our Christian university. Individual coaching is provided to allow students to develop their skills and decide which concentration is the best fit based on their passions and skill set.
