Home-Schooled Students

California Baptist University provides a welcoming environment for college students who have been home-schooled. CBU's small classes and caring faculty and staff enable our home-schooled students to make a successful transition to college. Take home-schooled student Patrick O'Brien for example:

"I was home-schooled for my entire elementary and secondary education. The transition to California Baptist University was not difficult at all. In fact, I found the change in learning style quite enjoyable. In the way of music, I have had the opportunity to sing with the University Singers and play trumpet in the Brass Ensemble. I was able to compete nationally in springboard diving, placing seventh nationally. I have also been involved in student leadership working as a Resident Assistant and serving in Campus Ministries as a discipleship leader." -- Patrick O'Brien

How to Apply

Home-schooled students interested in attending California Baptist University should submit an application, $45 application fee, two letters of recommendation, SAT or ACT scores, and one of the following: Official High School Transcripts or General Education Diploma or State Proficiency Exam.

Many home-schooled students accumulate credit at community colleges during their high school years; please have official transcripts sent from any college where units have been earned in order to receive proper credit.
