Interests & Hobbies
Kelly and I will have been married 32 years this December. We met as college music students at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri and married just after we graduated. Kelly is a Sales Director with Mary Kay and is the Music Director at First Presbyterian Church in Corona. We have 2 children, Kristin (28), and Jordan (23). Our family loves singing and making music together. Kristin, a graduate of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, is married and has an active music ministry in the mid-west leading worship and singing for various conferences and events. Jordan will graduate this December from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in voice. He is the interim Minister of Music at College Heights Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He is also very active in performing musical theater for various companies here in Southern California. Following his graduation he will spend 6 months in South Africa teaching English.
I have had the joy of singing and sharing the gospel on nearly every continent of the world. After I finish my dissertation I look forward to participating in CBU’s mission endeavors. As far as hobbies, I enjoy writing music, playing guitar. I really enjoy playing basketball, and riding my bike. Kelly and I enjoy walking our dogs here in beautiful southern California.
This is my life verse. I pray that it impacts everything that I do.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: The old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”
