Pre-Athletic Training
Pre-Athletic Training
CBU's offers the Pre-Athletic Training curriculum as way for students to complete prerequisites to enter the Masters of Science in Athletic Training program. This is for students who need to complete two or more pre-requisites prior to being accepted into the Masters program, but still need the assistance of financial aid without full time status. Athletic Training prerequisite courses are offered through our Online and Professional Studies (OPS) Program and our Traditional Day-time Program. Course offerings vary each semester and tuition varies according to program.

Pre-Athletic Training Admissions Requirements
- A completed Graduate School Application, with a non-refundable application processing fee of $45
- A Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution or the equivalent.
- Official sealed transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
- Three recommendations from academic or professional sources who can address your potential for success in this graduate program.
- Comprehensive essay of at least 500 words that includes the following:
- Purpose for entering the program
- Your background and/or experiences in athletic training, sports, or related areas
- Short and long term professional goals
- Reasons for choosing to study at CBU
- Current resume including all related professional and extracurricular experiences
- An applicant whose first language is not English and/or does not have a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction is required to demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting a recent test score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The a minimum score required to display English language proficiency for admission to a graduate program is 80 IBT. If the score is lower than 80, applicant may be admitted to the Intensive English Program (IEP) and graduate program while taking required language courses to meet the minimum TOEFL requirement.

BIO153 Anatomy & Physiology I w/ Lab
This course is designed for professional nursing and general college students. Included are a general survey of human histology and the study of structure and function of organ systems of the human body, including the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, endocrine and nervous systems. Structure and function of sensory organs are also included in the course. Correlated by laboratory experience and demonstration. Lecture (3 units) and required laboratory (1 unit). This course prepares the student to be a First Responder and ready to give emergency care required for catastrophic and/or life-threatening injuries and illness to physically active individuals.
