Self-Assessment/Online Screenings
Self Assessment
The Counseling Center provides services which encourage personal growth and self awareness through the use of personality assessments, stress management skills, goal setting and decision making techniques, and test anxiety management training.
Growth Groups
Several group counseling opportunities are made available each semester. Students may also request a particular type of growth group, and the Counseling Center will make every effort to accommodate the request. Groups generally consist of 5-12 people, and are conducted on a weekly basis for 6, 8, or 10 weeks. Group themes include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assertiveness Training
- Body Image/Self Esteem
- Dysfunctional Families
- Men's Support Group
- Parenting Skills Training
- Personal Growth
- Pre-Engagement or Engaged Couples
- Women's Support Group
Online Screening
The CBU Counseling Center offers anonymous online screenings free of charge. These screenings take only a few minutes to complete and may be helpful if you believe you’re struggling with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, eating concerns, or problems with alcohol. The screening is provided so that you can gain more information about the symptoms you’re experiencing and decide whether or not a professional consultation might be helpful to you. If you’re interested in completing one of these screenings, visit the assessment site now.
