Alan McThomas, Counseling Center Director
Alan R. McThomas earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology and has been practicing in the field of psychotherapy since 1967. He assumed the position of Counseling Center Director at California Baptist University in September 1998 and is also an Associate Professor of Psychology. Beginning in 1978, Alan served as a director and clinical psychologist with Christian Psychological Services in Riverside, where he continues to maintain his clinical practice.
Julie Greenwalt, Counseling Center Secretary
Julie Greenwalt graduated from California Baptist University with a B.A. in Behavioral Science. She assumed the position of secretary in the Counseling Center in June 2006.
Vicki Andrews, MFT Intern
Vicki Andrews received her B.S. degree in Psychology at National University and an M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She has 16 years of experience as a day care director. She has also worked as a youth counselor and enjoys working with parents, adolescents, special needs children, and women. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.
Gabriel Arroyo, MFT Trainee
Gabriel Arroyo earned his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and is working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has experience working as a youth program coordinator for a youth drug prevention agency. He is interested in working with children through play therapy, couples, and persons dealing with grief and loss.
Mollie Bohrer, MFT Intern
Mollie Bohrer earned her B.A. in Psychology and English and her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience serving youth and young adults in church, as well as groups and individuals in foster care and group homes. Mollie enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families, particularly those experiencing sexual issues, family of origin issues, and homosexuality.
Stefanie Bolio, MFT Trainee
Stefanie Bolio earned her B.A. in Psychology/Christian Behavioral Science and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is particularly interested in working with children through behavior therapy.
Linda Bramel, MFT Intern
Linda Bramel graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a B.S. in Psychology and earned an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with small groups and is interested in working with women, children, and families, as well as persons suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.
Trinette Briggs, MFT Intern
Trinette Briggs earned an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She currently works with women and children at a local transitional living program and is interested in working with individuals, couples, children, and youth. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.
Sarah Capili, MFT Intern
Sarah Capili earned her B.A. in psychology at the University of California, Riverside, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and Forensic Psychology at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with individuals, couples, families, and children.
Ramona Carver, MFT Intern
Ramona Carver completed her B.S. in Liberal Studies and earned her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has worked for the Women's Crisis Intervention Agency in Oceanside and enjoys working with women, families, and couples. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.
Rita Cuellar, MFT Trainee
Rita Cuellar received her B.A. in Psychology at California Baptist University and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology. She has worked as a health educator, child care liasion, ProSocial Skills instructor, and gang member interviewer. Rita is interested in working with couples and families, and has taught parenting classes and anger management classes.
Chelsea Dirks, MFT Intern
Chelsea Dirks earned her B.A. and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with women and young couples.
Michael Finlay, MFT Intern
Michael Finlay earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He is interested in working with families, military personnel, athletes, and persons dealing with PTSD.
Ione Flanagan, MFT Intern
Ione Flanagan earned a B.S. in business from the University of Redlands and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has worked as a leader in an addiction recovery program and is interested in working with teenagers, young adults, and older women.
Allison Guthrie, MFT Trainee
Allison Guthrie earned her B.S. in Applied Health majoring in Human Development and Family Studies at Indiana University and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working as an adolescent/youth camp counselor and volunteering with a college ministry for women. Allison is particularly eager to work with adolescents as well as persons who struggle with eating disorders and their families.
Lori Heck, MFT Intern
Lori Heck earned a B.S. in psychology at Drexel University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology as well as an M.A. in Forensic Psychology at California Baptist University. She is a substitute teacher and enjoys working with teenagers and young adults, particularly involving eating disorders and trauma.
Cianna Holloway, MFT Trainee
Cianna Holloway obtained her B.A. in Psychology and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working as an outreach counselor and is interested in working with children, adolescents, couples, and families, particuarly with persons dealing with depression and abuse. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.
Naomi Joyce, MFT Intern
Naomi Joyce earned her B.A. and M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She currently works with adults and adolescents who are involved with the legal system as well as has experience with premarital and marital counseling. She is interested in working with families, couples, and children.
Gary Miner, MFT Intern
Gary Miner earned his B.A. and M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has served as program director, program coordinator, case manager, and system administrator at a drug/alcohol rehabilitation center and is interested in working with families and those needing drug/alcohol counseling.
Yvonne Munoz, MFT Intern
Yvonne Munoz earned her B.A. and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and Counseling Ministry at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with children and young women in particular and has experience working to integrate college students into campus life.

Ruth Olson graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Whitworth University and an M.S. in Marriage Family Therapy at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with children, youth, young adults, couples, and families. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling. Miriam Ordiales, MFT Intern
Miriam Ordiales obtained a B.S. in Human Services and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She has taught parenting classes for court mandated/CPS and school referrals at the YWCA in Riverside. Miriam is interested in working with families, couples, children, and individuals in crisis, and she is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Jesse Paulos, MFT Intern
Jesse Paulos earned his B.A. in psychology at the University of California, Riverside, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He is a secondary level math teacher and has worked with youth at his church. Jesse is interested in working with families, children and teens, as well as young adults.
Christine Rayford, MFT Intern
Christine Rayford earned a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She is bilingual in English and Tagalog (Filipino). She is currently employed as a School Mental Health Intern at Riverside Unified School District working with elementary school children. Christine enjoys working with individuals, children, couples, and families, particularly dealing with issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, adjustment, and cross-cultural matters. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.
Anna Salcido, MFT Trainee
Anna Salcido earned her B.A. in Psychology at California State University, Fullerton, and is currently working toward her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She works as a tutor with at-risk adolescents and is interested in helping individuals, children, families, and couples.
Natalie Santos, Post-doctoral Intern
Natalie Santos earned a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Alliant International University. She is interested in helping people in the areas of eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, spiritual development, substance abuse, and adjustment difficulties. Natalie speaks conversational Spanish.
Wayne Forrest Buzz Turnbull, MFT Trainee
Wayne Turnbull obtained his B.A. in Psychology and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has worked as a student disability liasion and is interested in working with young people and families.
Gail Ann White-Biggers, MFT Trainee
Gail White-Biggers earned her B.A. in Psychology and is currently working toward a dual masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Forensic Psychology at California Baptist University. Gail has volunteered as a life skills counselor in a re-entry program and has a passion for working with families, couples, youth, and individuals in crisis.
Daisy Whitfield, MFT Trainee
Daisy Whitfield earned her B.S. in Behavioral Science and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has worked as a childcare worker for at-risk teenagers and as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapist for families with children diagnosed with autism and other development disabilities. She is interested in working with children, families, and couples, particularly for premarital counseling. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys assisting the Hispanic community in locating community resources.
Colleen Young, MFT Intern
Colleen Young received her B.A. degree in Psychology from California Baptist University, as well as her M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is also an adjunct professor at CBU and has been a guest speaker at various University engagements. Colleen especially enjoys working with couples and families as well as individuals overcoming sexual abuse.
