I don't believe the gym is only for muscle heads. Fitness is all about increasing one's physical and mental wellness by being active and healthy. As a personal trainer it is my goal to help people become more healthy by engaging in fun exercises in a positive and upbeat environment. Yes, regular exercise can be challenging, but the best things in life are challenging.

Kirstin Klein

Year: Junior
Hometown: Riverside, CA
Certification: American Fitness Institute
Major: Political Science/Criminal Justice
Fitness Philosophy:

Each challenge you face creates a growth physically and mentally. It's natural to set preconceived limitations but when passion drives your every move, what may seem impossible becomes these exciting goals you're determined to achieve. Know whole heartedly that your desire for growth is greater than your desire to stay the same, so that each day you work even a little harder you've strengthened your mind and body to being a much happier, healthier and stronger you.

Favorite Scripture:

"The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil." Proverbs 4:18-27

Josiah Kaufman

Fitness Philosophy:

Fitness isn't just about looking good or showing off. It's about becoming better than you were before; being stronger, faster, and breaking the boundaries you thought you had. Being fit is not a hobby or an activity, It's a lifestyle. You get out of it what you put in to it which is why I put everything in to it and encourage others to do the same.

Favorite Scripture:

Ephesians 2:8-10 - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Certification:  NASM
Major: Health Science
Areas of Specialization:  Physician's Assistant
Fitness Philosophy:

We have a responsibility to keep our bodies fit and prepared for life to the best of our ability. As Christian's we are supposed to stand out and generate the "I want to be part of that group" affect in non-believes. That is not limited to morals. We should draw people upwards in all areas of life.

Favorite Scripture:

and keeps my way secure.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;

Shannon Lum

Hometown:

Corona, CA

Certification:

LIVE Instructor

Major: Counseling Psychology
Areas of Specialization:

Strength

Fitness Philosophy:

I believe in the importance of mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical strength, which I view as interdependent. As someone who has struggled each of these four areas at one point or another in my life, I find value in encouraging others to build towards their goals, fitness and otherwise, so that they can better experience and share God's love.

Favorite Scripture:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:3-7
