How often do you exercise?
Everyday I try to do at least 45 minutes to an hour or either weight lifting or cardio.

What motivates you to exercise on a regular basis?
Before I came to CBU I was 315lbs and completely out of shape. Upon entering a degree of studying healthcare I realized I couldn't teach other people about health, if I wasn't healthy myself. 

What lifestyle changes have made the greatest impact on you?
DIET, DIET and DIET! I used to eat a lot of fast food for almost every meal and it hurt me badly over time. By switching to healthier and smaller meals I become more energized through out the day and feel more satisfied after a workout.

If we were to find you in the Rec Center, where would you be?
You would find me either in the weight room or on the basketball courts.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I was the first in my family to graduate from college. I studied Radio, Television and Film at Biola University, received my MA in Christian Apologetics in 2000 and MBA in 2013 from Concordia. I met my wife, Megan, on a mission trip to Venezuela and have been blessed with two beautiful children, Johnmark (11) and Marian (9).

How often do you exercise?
I try to workout three times a week at the Rec Center. Having two excellent personal trainers to keep me accountable (Jonathan and Nattali) really helps me stay on track.

What motivates you to exercise on a regular basis?
I would have to say my family motivates me to work out on a regular basis. I want to have the energy to be actively engaged in my children’s lives.

What lifestyle changes have made the greatest impact on you?
I have had to cut sugar out sugar from my diet. Now, more than ever, I understand how important it is to make time for a fifteen minute workout …once a day.

How has the Rec Center affected your life since it opened (if applicable)?
The Rec Center has been an incredible blessing to me. In many ways I think the Rec Center is helping me stay balanced.

What major changes have you seen since you have started exercising?
Since I’ve started exercising, my energy level has increased and my stress level has decreased significantly.

If we were to find you in the Rec Center, where would you be?
You can probably find me on the Rowing Machine or TRX training. My trainers Jonathan and Nattali exert a great deal of mental energy thinking of new ways to challenge me to strengthen my core with a good bosu and kettle bell workout.

What is your favorite quote or scripture?
That’s easy …my favorite verse is Matthew 16:25. “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

What is your favorite exercise?
My favorite exercise is TRX …the instructors are really encouraging.
