Safety 101 is a safety class designed to equip the climbers with all the safety skills required to pass the climbing wall Top-Rope Safety (Belay) Test. All equipment is provided. Class is limited to six participants and will take about 30 to 45 minutes. Class and test will be offered throughout the summer. Please stop by the Climbing Wall, as the class is offered on a "first come, first serve" basis.
Technique is a free, unlimited, one-on-one personalized training course to assist climbers of any level. Technique is instructed by our experienced Lead Climbing Attendants. Participants will learn and practice different climbing methods, which will help improve their climbing and bouldering skills such as: silent feet, sticky hands, the use of different types of holds, body balance, and movements to improve the sequencing through a route or problem. Those interested can sign-up at the Rec Center reception desk.
Intro To Bouldering

First time bouldering? Learn to Boulder is the class for you! You’ll get expert instruction on beginner climbing technique, while learning how to boulder and to manage the associated risks. This is a great way to build a solid foundation of climbing knowledge, and will help you on your way to climbing stronger and smarter.

This event is a climbing competition for all levels of climbers; students will be faced with new problems on the bouldering area as well as a chance to build community with other climbers at CBU. This event is open to the first 30 people, so first come first serve. Sign-ups open Oct 7th at 7am. Prizes will be given to the top three participants.

Top Rope Twister

Re-enter your past with a game of Top Rope Twister. Similar to a game of traditional twister, players will spin and hope the colors they land on help them reach the top of the Rock Wall. This is a game of physical skill and a little chance. No sign-up needed, just drop in!
Stretch Clinic For Climbers
Date: Jan 27, Feb 24, Mar 23, April 13
Time: 9 - 10 p.m.
Climbers will experience various deep stretch exercises that will work on the main muscle groups utilized in climbing. Experienced climbers and people who are new are welcome to come to the class. Prepare your body for climbing!
