Write a 1-page (~400 words) biographical sketch of one of the following philosophers.

Marilyn M. Adams, Robert M. Adams, Simone de Beauvoir, Jeremy Bentham, John Stuart Mill, Friedrich Nietzsche, Bertrand Russell, Jean Paul Sartre, Adam Smith, Harriet Taylor, Ludwig Wittgenstein

The biographical sketch should be typewritten or computer generated; no handwritten work permitted. It should include the following points:

1. Date and Place of Birth
2. Date and Place of Death (if applicable)
3. Principal place(s) of residence (city/nation)
4. Family circumstances (for example: family was rich or poor, of nobility or commoner, mother and father alive during childhood or orphaned at early age, there were siblings, and so forth)
5. Education, both formal and informal
6. Brief summary of philosophical questions at core of this philosopher's concerns and philosophical system developed (include identification with other philosophers who explicitly shared or rejected the views of this philosopher on the issues)
7. Brief personal analysis of this philosopher's life and views (that is, do you overall agree or disagree with the answers proposed by this philosopher)

This paper is due at the same time as your paper on Sophie's World, 19th June, at the beginning of class.

This paper will be marked, and that mark will replace your lowest quiz grade. That is, it is worth up to 10% of your final grade.
