There are seven (7) quizzes set for the term. Each quiz is comprised of two parts.
Part I — Answer the question(s) posted on my website (follow the Latest IR Quiz link on my Political & Legal Studies index page). Send your answers to me via email (dskubik@calbaptist.edu). Your email should arrive no later than 10:30pm on the Monday evening that quiz is set. Hence, you should have completed the reading and quiz work for each week by the class date as outlined in the syllabus. [Further, when we meet F2F (April 2-23), you will likely need to have this done before you come to class. There will not usually be time after class to complete the work before it is due.]
Example: Quiz #1 is set for Monday, March 12. That quiz’s short answer question(s) will be posted on my website no later than Tuesday morning, March 6. You thus have one week to answer the question(s) posed. Since we are not meeting F2F on that date, you have the evening to complete the work. When we meet F2F, you will want to complete the work by the time you come to class.
Part II — Go to the Online Companion Website and take one multiple choice practice test for each of the chapters assigned for reading that week. After you submit each test for grading, you will have your results displayed for you. Send a copy of each practice test to yourself for your own records, and send one to me for mine.
Example: Quiz #1 is set for Monday, March 12. Go to the Online Companion Website and take one multiple choice practice test for chapter 2 and one multiple choice practice test for chapter 3. Submit your tests for grading, and send a copy of the results to yourself and to me for our mutual records. (When you go to this website for the first time, be sure to fill out the Profile sheet, so email addresses will be entered for you automatically, each time you visit the site and take the practice tests.)
Note: Quiz #7 is different. Since there are no practice tests for chapter 14 on the Companion Web Site, you are to do the following: Submit one (1) multiple choice practice test and one (1) true/false practice test for chapter 1 (that's right, the very first chapter of the book), and submit those results to me, along with your single long essay from the two questions posted on my website for chapter 14. No change in due date.
Scores for Quizzes will be compiled as follows:
