Film Competition Guidelines

The California Baptist University Film Competition is an annual event sponsored by ASCBU, CBU College of Arts and Sciences, and the CBU Marketing and Communication Division. The event seeks to showcase the innovative and creative work of CBU students through the outlet of film and video production. Participants will submit a film qualifying in the three-minute to five-minute length category. Submissions should follow the given theme of the event and represent work that the participant would be proud to show to an audience. The winning films will be showcased in a public festival-style viewing. Submitted films may be used for CBU marketing and promotional purposes. To qualify, submissions must abide by the CBU code of conduct as well as the guidelines outlined in this document.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Creativity. The theme is “OTHER” so give us short films that thoughtfully explore the concept of “other” in ways that depict Christ’s compassion to the world and uplift humanity as God’s creation.  (See poster for details.)
