Tutoring for CBU Students

The ARC offers hour-long peer tutoring appointments in a number of subjects including English, mathematics, Christian studies, business, and the sciences, at no cost to CBU students.  Appointments must be made no later than the close of business on the previous day of which the appointment is requested by calling the Academic Resource Center at 951.343.4349 or coming into the office in room 121 of the James Building (on the first floor). 24 hours notice is required.

Writing Center:

The ARC houses the Writing Center, which offers students personalized assistance with the writing process and emphasizes writing across the curriculum. Tutors will help tutees with grammar, style, structure, fluidity, conciseness, critical thinking, shortcuts, mnemonics, and other such aspects of scholarship. Tutors will not proofread, edit, grade, or complete an assignment for a tutee.

Online tutoring is available, by appointment only, and serves CBU undergraduate and graduate students at all campuses. Visual and auditory components are available to enhance the online experience, but are not required. Contact the ARC for more information.

While the Writing Center accepts walk-ins, all tutoring appointments are made at least one day in advance. Be prepared to supply the assignment requirements (e.g., syllabus, prompt, or assignment sheet).

Writing Center Hours:

Monday - Tuesday 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Wednesday - Sunday: Closed

Please note that summer hours vary from those listed above.
