Living at CBU

Life at college is just that: life in every sense of the word. At California Baptist University, where a Christian education is the overriding focus, there are other emphases, too, as students travel the road to becoming well-rounded individuals. These aspects of college life, social, spiritual and recreational, are intended to renew students from a Christian perspective while invigorating their bodies, minds and commitment to serve and change their world.

At CBU, eating is a form of renewal and fellowship. So is playing. Without time to relax and burn off the stresses that accompany a rigorous college education, students would have difficulty maximizing their effort in the classroom. At the same time, their interaction with fellow students, faculty and those they serve would be less fulfilling if not for the time they spend together outside of the classroom.

Just as there are many opportunities for success within the classroom, so there are many opportunities for success outside of the classroom—opportunities to grow, enjoy friends, serve and flourish. After all, a college education encompasses much more than classroom learning and midterms—in a very real sense it’s a prelude to life itself.
