RN to BSN Program (Degree Completion Program)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The RN to BSN program is designed for RN’s who have an associate’s degree, licensed by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing, and want to further their education by obtaining a baccalaureate degree.

Admission Requirements 

 

Please return items 1-8 to the Degree Completion Admissions Office

  1. Complete the RN to BSN Application (PDF Document)
  2. A non-refundable application fee of $45 
  3. Two letters of recommendation (forms provided by CBU )
  4. Career Statement of professional goals in nursing
  5. Resume—summary of work experience over the past two years
  6. Copy of valid RN nursing license in California
  7. Minimum GPA of 2.7 or greater (on a 4.0 scale) in transferred courses
  8. Transcript request forms (provided by CBU ) for all colleges attended.
  9. A minimum of 30 units transferable credit (earned with a “C” grade or better) from accredited colleges or universities, documented on official transcripts from each institution attended.

  10. A degree from an accredited associate degree or diploma-nursing program. (Coursework older than five years since working as an RN may require refresher courses.)  At least two years of work experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.

  1. Successful interview with the School of Nursing
  2. Applicant Health History form
  3. Professional liability insurance
  4. Complete a criminal background clearance at www.mybackgroundcheck.com (school code B1R85) 
  5. Complete Conduct Clearance, Honor Code and Release and Waiver Forms
  6. Valid driver’s license
  7. Current automobile insurance
  8. Current health insurance card
  9. CPR certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers for adults and children.
  10. Physical examination and immunization records including TB test, Hepatitis A and B, MMR , Varicella, and Tdap and other immunizations.

(The School of Nursing provides physical exam forms, as well as specific, required health verifications; all healthcare agency health requirements must be met prior to registration.)
