Welcome to the School of Engineering!

It is an exciting time to study engineering and to be apart of a new Christian school of engineering that intentionally combines solid technical training with people skills in a Christian context. Besides traditional vocational destinations, people trained as engineers go on to become lawyers, doctors, K-12 teachers, University professors, business entrepreneurs, salesperson, pastors and missionaries. The number one undergraduate background for Fortune 500 companies by discipline is engineering. Engineers have changed the course of world history and been prominent in missions efforts.

CBU’s School of Engineering is growing rapidly in terms of both students and facilities. In our first year, we started work on new labs and classroom space and have received numerous gifts and grants including a grant from the National Science Foundation. In addition to our four areas of study, students and faculty are focusing their research efforts into the following areas: green technologies, rehabilitation technologies and technologies designed to improve life in developing parts of the world. Let me invite you to contact me directly if you would like to know more about the school of engineering and how you might be able to become involved with us.

Fictional personalities, such as those popularized by the cartoon character Dilbert, help perpetuate this stereotype of the detached, inept engineer. But, talk to Anthony Donaldson, Ph.D., and some of his students, and one begins to understand why stereotypes are dangerous. Continue to complete story
