Philosophy Program Student Outcomes

1. Philosophy majors should be able to demonstrate in written and oral form engagement in a personal faith-pilgrimage which enables the integration of faith and reason, the development of value-based character, and a commitment to the service of God and human culture.

2. Philosophy majors should be knowledgeable of the basic parameters of the Christian world-view.

3. Philosophy majors should be able to logically analyze assumptions, identify issues, identify various methods of argumentation, critique the validity of conclusions, and understand the impact of ideas both philosophically and historically.

4. Philosophy majors should have a grasp of the meaning and significance of the history of philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and the philosophy of religion.

5. Philosophy majors will be successful in their acceptance in graduate and professional programs.
