English Undergraduate Program Student Outcomes
- Graduating English majors will be able to show strong evidence that they have acquired an ability to write substantial research papers as well as short response essays at a quality level generally expected.
- Students completing the baccalaureate program in English will demonstrate that they compare favorably in their knowledge of literature, composition, and the English language with those students completing a similar program anywhere else regionally or nationally.
- Graduating seniors will be able to critique and edit a paper draft, pointing out compositional weaknesses, topical, grammatical, or mechanical.
- English graduates will demonstrate knowledge and experience of electronic word-processing, research, and communication specifically for language and literature studies.
- After graduating, students will be equipped for employment or for more advanced studies in pursuit of higher academic degrees.
