Bachelor of Arts in Theatre

The theater arts program at California Baptist University offers students numerous opportunities to cultivate and express their theatrical skills. CBU’s traveling drama gospel team “Celebration!” ministers to churches and local high schools, throughout California. The theater programs have led drama teams on summer tours to Australia, Hawaii and Alaska where they had the privilege of sharing the gospel through drama in prisons, churches, and youth rallies.

CBU’s Theater program produces two (2) major theater productions each semester. Both semester plays are usually a well-known comedy or drama and a musical. The theater program emphasizes quality in all of its productions evidenced by the many awards and recognitions they have received locally from the Inland Theatre League.

In addition, CBU’s theater program offers classes in technical stagecraft, design and lighting. Theater instructors encourage students to take on leadership roles both on the stage and backstage. CBU theater students are able to take classes in acting, design, Drama in the Church and many others subjects as they prepare to participate in our various productions.
